Round or D shaped steering wheels

Postby bdrmotorsports » Wed Nov 22, 2017 1:26 pm

Anyone using a round or D shaped steering wheel instead of the butterfly style? Legal or not? Ideas on where to get one besides the obvious (summit.com or Jegs)? I've seen some in a couple of Jrs that were for sale and wanted any opinions on if your kids liked them or not. Thanks!

I have seen a few with the D shape. We always preferred the butterfly steering wheel. I think it makes it a little easier to get out when turned vertical.

That is why steering wheels are removable

I like them fixed. Do not have to worry about them coming off the shaft that way. Seen a few have come off with the kid going down track. Guess that is another topic of conversation.

I never liked them until my youngest son won one at a drawing at a race a few months back, now both my boys have one and they both say they are comfortable driving the car with one so that's enough for me. Plus my oldest son has long arms so the extra few inches the D-shaped is away from him really helps him out.
